Ajahn Wade Bhuripanyo

Ajahn Wade is an American-born Theravada Buddhist monk (bhikkhu). He ordained in 2014 in the lineage of Ajahn Chah of the Thai forest tradition at Wat Marp Jan in Rayong Province, Thailand. After 10 years of living and training in Thailand almost continuously--almost nine years of that as a monk--he returned to the United States in 2023 where he has been teaching and meditating. He was invited to reside at the Ashokan Meditation Center for its first vassa (rains residence) as director of teaching in July, 2025. 

A Buddhist since 1994, Ajahn Wade brings 31 years of practice to the sessions he leads. Some of his teachings can be seen on his YouTube channel.
