Calm, Insight, and Loving Kindness

Free Sunday Afternoon Workshops/Deep Practice Sessions

Most Sundays from January 25 – March 29, Ashokan Meditation Center will offer online workshop/long-practice sessions from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time grounded in Theravada Buddhism and the Thai Forest tradition, focusing on calm, insight, and loving kindness.

These Sunday afternoons offer a chance to slow down, renew, and transcend. Each 3-hour session includes periods of sitting and walking meditation, Dhamma teaching, and time for questions and/or discussion. Over the course of the season we will cover a variety of subjects, such as stress and emotional balance, loving kindness, questions of meaning, and spiritual growth. Detailed schedule below.

Meditation styles may include breath-based practices, body scan, and traditional recollections and contemplations. Sessions are suitable for newer meditators and long-term practitioners seeking to deepen and diversify their practice, alike.

Please note: On Sunday, March 8, we will hold a special Magha Pūjā Daylong Retreat.
